In the catfighting world of fashion, one designer's name towered above the rest on Oscar night. Cate Blanchett, Sadie Frost and Hilary Swank all wore Louboutin Shoes. But what many people don't know is that there are two entirely separate Christian Louboutin Shoes labels. Rose Shepherd met the man behind the name and tried to find out what was afoot
If there was an award for enterprise on Oscar night, Tamara Yeardye and Sandra Choi would have walked it. A fortnight before the ceremony in March, Yeardye and Choi arrived in Beverly Hills with a collection of 60 pairs of white satin Christian Louboutin from the Christian Louboutin Shoes ready-to-wear range, in a variety of sizes, and in seven styles, with such whimsical names as Cleo, Bambi and China.They established themselves at L'Ermitage hotel, hired a team of craftsmen, and set about dying and adapting the Christian Louboutin for actor clients. On the night, a galaxy of stars (well, 45, at least) were shod, if not by Christian Louboutin Shoes in person, then by two women calling themselves Christian Louboutin Shoes...
Not at all, insisted Yeardye's people. Tamara had brought great energy and vision to the operation; it was merely a matter of giving acknowledgement where it was due. There were differences of opinion in all businesses, but they felt confident that, a year from now, Christian Louboutin would still be chairman, and owner with 'the Yeardye family', of the ready-to-wear.
